Join us in a role that has real impact
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and dynamic graduate or entry level developer to put learned skills into practice, evolve and hone your coding knowledge and gain experience by making a practical contribution to a growing charity.
It’s important to us that all visitors to our website consider it to be intuitive, clean and easy to use, and also that the website works seamlessly with our back-office Charity Relationship Management (CRM) system.
In collaboration with key stakeholders in our organisation, you will be responsible for collating ideas and feedback and making UI and UX enhancements on a range of aspects to our WordPress website by editing pages, updating styles and layout, and configuring and implementing plugins.
Additionally, to support proposed process changes and refinements, you will configure forms and settings used within our website Volunteer Portal and back-office CRM. You will also liaise with our team of developer volunteers to design, develop and test further enhancements to the Volunteer Portal and CRM.
So, if you have a UX and/or design mindset, you might just be the right person for this role.
As part of your induction, we will provide you with a detailed introduction to the architecture and technologies used in our software systems. We recognise that applicants may be familiar with some of the technologies we use, but not all. If there are particular areas of your skill set that you would like to develop, we will help you create a Personal Development Plan and support you in achieving that plan, including providing you with access to mentors.
The successful candidate will have a high standard of written English and excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as a good eye for detail.
This is a busy role and will suit someone who is self-motivated and can manage a diverse workload with the ability to prioritise tasks.
We want to work with someone who is keen to learn and will take a proactive approach to understand new systems and ways of working. We are open to improving how we do things and welcome suggestions to change our processes for the better.
